No good news - just bad news, I'm afraid.
I had just finished re-sketching all of Chapter 1 and some of Chapter 2 of 's 'The Three Otaku', and I was re-digital-ing Page 3 when dear Mother comes up and sighs.

Mum: *aggravated sigh*
Me: Hi. What's wrong?
Mum: You're drawing manga again? Why?
Me: I feel like it? (If I mention a possible online friend, she'll instantly take it the wrong way, so *zip*)
Mum: Manga is so pointless when you can do realism.
Me: ...
Mum: Oh, and that arm is off. *points to already lineart-ed arm that is indeed off*
Me: *feels sick*

After that, when she caught me drawing in my new notebook (manga that was original, not like Naruto or whatever) she banned me from drawing anything more. She was disapproving before, but I could get away with it at school. Now it's the Summer Holidays, there's nothing I can do.

She always thinks that (because she's Japanese) manga equals bishoujo hentai and that sort of thing. No use trying to convince her it's okay. And when I do my usual check-up of latest Naruto/w/e chapter, she just gives me a haughty knowing look, saying stuff like, "Oh, you're doing MANGA again."
